ok imagine a main table. It has a 2 pixel border. The outer pixel on the border is black. The inner pixel border is white. Is this possible to do with CSS?

I've made a screenshot to illustrate what i mean.

    Regards

You mean similar to here? Example: the quick reply box has a grayish outer border and a white inner border.

I've researched this before and I think the only way is the way vB does it with nested tables or other table tricks.

No. My screenshot shows what i mean.

That bit in the middle is my table (the <table> tag)

I want a two pixel border but i want one pixel one color and the other pixel another color

That's what I mean and I don't believe it's possible with CSS borders.

Ok last question. Does the border count as part of the table width?

Say for example you had a table with a width of 700 and a border set to 1 pixel would it be 702 pixels wide or 700?

I believe it does count for it so you'd have to make the table width 698 pixels.
