    Hi, my site, http://www.Randumbstuff.com is fairly new and works just fine in Netscape. Unfortunately, using IE, all that loads is the counter!

    Another wierd part is that all the other pages of my site work just fine in IE. Only the main page has this problem!
    Here's another page of the site: http://e.1asphost.com/troysoy2/comics/comicsindex.html

    I don't have a clue as to what to do, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    hmm... one weird thing i saw that is in your menu section, in the <td> tag, it says "body"... you may want to try taking that out.

    btw, nice code. so clean and easy to read! I <3 it.

    it's the comments!
    do your comments like this:
    <!-- comment -->
    not like this:
    <!-- comment --!>

    - i just tried it after fixing the comments, and it worked in ie. do it.

    Aha!

    It makes sense now. If the browser thought everything in the page was just one big comment it wouldn't show up!

    Kinda funny how Netscape didn't seem to care. Just another reason why testing your site with multiple browsers is a good thing to do!

    Thanks a ton for the help! Now I can get back to work!

    The Real Fix

    Hey man,
    You really need to make some changes with your code. Preferrably you should start coding in the XHTML standard cause its going that way for browsers soon...so therefore your codes not gonna mean much in the future...but heres the real code taht fixes ure site...

    Code:
    <html>

    <head>

    <title>Randumb Stuff</title>

    <meta name="keywords" content="Randumb Stuff Random RPG Maker Warhammer Online Troy Soy Marching Band Century High C Files Links Battlefield 1942 Mod comics forums">

    <meta name="description" content="A site with so many topics, It must be randumb!">

    <meta name="author" content="Chris Jarvis">

    <meta name="contact_addr" content="troysoy2@yahoo.com">

    <meta name="copyright" content="&copy;2004 by ME!">

    <meta name="robot" content="all">

    <meta name="revisit-after" content="1 month">

    </head>

    <body leftmargin="0" bottommargin="0" topmargin="0" bgcolor="#000000" link="#ffff00" vlink="#ffff00" text="#00ff00">

    <table width="800" align="center" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">

    <!-- Top Divider -->

    	</tr>

    	<tr>
    <!--Bottom Counter-->
    			<td><!-- Start Bravenet.com Service Code -->

    <!-- End Bravenet.com Service Code --></td>

    	</tr>
    <!--Bottom Divider-->
    	<tr width="800" valign="bottom" align="center">

    		<td colspan="6" height="3" valign="top" align="center" background="http://e.1asphost.com/troysoy2/images/horizdivide.jpg"></td>
    		</tr>
    </table>

    </body>

    </html>
    The part that was really messed up was actually a few things

    the comment tags...the closing of a few TD tags...and 1 TR tag
    in your background images, you had a body attribute (do not do it; body is not an attibute, its a main tag that states the beginnaing and end of the main html content.)...also you closed ure anchor tags ( your tags looked like you were closing them and then you end with an href; you put </a href> , dont do that)

    I hope that helps you out...and i hope that you start studdying web design standards.
    Thanks,
    Drew

    Ok, I fixed all that stuff.
    Now all I have to do is fix it on all the pages of my site...

    Now what's this about XHTML? I'm fairly new at all this and XHTML sounds like evil html. You think it would be good for me to move on and learn that now? :ermm:

    xhtml

    yeah you should really look into this. Do you have an aim screenname or msn or yahoo?? i can really help you out.

    xhtml is a combonation of xml and xhtml and the web standard is THAT. so sooner or later it will only recognize xhtml, so you really should research on it.

    its just like html, just a few small rules and a few newer tags. you must use DTD's but that is really easy...i could really go through this with you if you wanted.

    also you seemed to use the font tag alot...thats deprecated...meaning its not supported...so sooner or later browsers wont recognize it at all. thats where css comes in...

    like i said...talk to me about it...ill help.
    Thanks,
    Drew

    IE Hates Me... Again!

    Ok, I've been working on putting css and xhtml on my site. So far, I've only gotten the main page, Randumb Stuff, into the new format and there's just one problem: At lower screen resolutions (and when you restore down the window) IE changes the size of my side menu and it looks bad.

    Yet again, this only happens in IE. Firefox and Netscape display the page just fine. A little help please?

    And if there's anything else I could do to make my site better, that'd be nice too!
