    Hello all!

    I'm having a problem with a floating <div> on my site. It's the main section, notice that if you resize the browser window, the main portion plops down from where it should be to below the menu on the left.

    Any Ideas? Thanks alot!

    After taking a quick look, my first guess is you are not setting a width on your "main" class. If you check out your page in Opera, you'll see why I'm going for this. Your content floats all the way to the edge of the page (and on my crazy huge res, that's a long way to go..lol).

    If you apply a width (770px I'm guessing), that should take care of the problem.

    Actually, the width is already set to 700px. (good guess) Here is the CSS for the menu and the main. (Shoulda included this off the bat, sorry)
    Code:
    .main{
    	font-family: verdana;
    	font-size: .9em;
    	color: black;
    	float: left;
    	padding: 10px;
    	border: 1px;
    	border-style: solid;
    	border-color: black;
    	width: 700px;
    	height: 100%;
    	}
    .menu{
    	background-image: url(../../images/dark_header_bg.jpg);
    	width: 200px;
    	height: 100%;
    	font-size: .9em;
    	font-family: verdana;
    	color: white;
    	float: left;
    	text-align: center;
    	}
    One other problem I'm having is if you resize your browser to less than a 1024x768 res would have it, the main drops below the menu. Thanks in advance.

    Good point. I edited the question and forgot to include the site.

    Ohhh, I was talking about the link on your home page *grins*. That has some major Opera funkyness goin' on..heh. Sorry about that.

    So finally looking at the correct site, the problem is you have the double float action going on. It's the float:left on the part that's being pushed down that's causing the issue. You can actually get rid of that all together and that should fix your problem. :-)

    Let me know!

    Yeah, my home pgae is all sortd of messed up in non-ie browsers... and since I've learned to love firefox, I guess I need to fix it.

    As far as this site is concerned, though, I removed the float: left; and you can see what happened.. theres now a 2-3 pixel shift to the right in the position odf the main, and it still slides down on a window resize. I'll leave it up today Just because I need to go to school now.
