    I am working on a site for a friend of mine (the site is named after her dog, Sadie) and I'm having a problem with one of the cells on the left hand side of the nav menu.

    I have a 2 pixel column on both the right and left side of the middle table, both are filled with a small 2x2 pixel black spacer (to match up with the black line running around the header and the footer), but for some odd reason the cell on the left is wider than the cell on the right, as you can see here:

    http://www.dcloud.com/show/sadie.htm

    I have the column width for both these "spacer" cells set at 2 pixels, but the one on the left is still showing wider than the one on the right. If anyone knows how to fix this I would appreciate the help. I am using DreamweaverMX.

    Thanks.

    Well I've messed around with your code for the last 5 minutes and managed to get the two spacer columns at equal width, but in the process I've managed to destroy your sets of <tbody><tbody> I'm not sure if this was a factor causing the prblem or not.

    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>&gt;&gt; Sadie's Place &lt;&lt;</title>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
    </head>
    <body background="sadie_files/paws.gif">
    <table align="center" bgcolor="#fceda9" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="800">
      <tr>
        <td><img src="sadie_files/header.gif" height="178" width="800"></td>
      </tr>
    </table>
    <table align="center" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="800">
      <tr>
        <td background="sadie_files/spacer.gif" width="2"></td>
        <td width="150" valign="top" bgcolor="#fceda9"><table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="6" width="150">
            <tr>
              <td><img src="sadie_files/menu.gif" height="148" width="99"></td>
            </tr>
          </table>
           </td>
        <td width="646" valign="top" bgcolor="#fceda9">
          </td>
        <td background="sadie_files/spacer.gif" width="2"></td>
      </tr>
    </table>
    <table align="center" bgcolor="#fceda9" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="800">
      <tr>
        <td><img src="sadie_files/footer.gif" height="65" width="800"></td>
      </tr>
    </table>
    </body>
    </html>

    Thanks, Trico ... by reading your code and comparing it to mine I noticed the cell I was having the problem with had that annoying non-breaking space code in it (&nbsp.

    Is there a way to disable this in DWMX ?
