    A regular link ("href command") requires the user to click it, while I think ptancred wanted this to be instantaneous.

    Also, this can be done with PHP:

    PHP Code:
    <?php

    Header
    ("Location: yourpage.php");

    ?>

    As Trico suggested:
    Code:
    <META HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" content="4;URL=http://www.cnn.com">
    Put that in the head tag, and some info in the body section that explains to visitors they will be redirected to your new page. The info will be visible for 4 seconds before the visitor is redirected, in the above example.

    You can also use javascript in the head tag:
    Code:
    (Instant redirect:)
    <script type="text/javascript">
    window.location="http://www.webdesignfoums.net"
    </script>

    Or you could just but a regular click link on your old homepage directing to your new one.....but i guess thats too easy?

    I would merge Palmer's and Wired's ideas together, so that the user can move to the new site on their own - as well as being automatically forwarded, after, say, 10 seconds. You don't want the user to be moved without informing them of a new address.
