    Let's say I want to setup a blog of my own. What's the easiest way to handle a comments script? I'm trying to avoid PHP if at all possible.
    There's a good chance I don't hate you as much as my name would lead most to believe.

    well, if you want to shield away from php, you can signup to sites like blogger.com, this way you just add blogs, and the script does the hard work for you.

    you won't be able to do a blog site of you own unless you use php, asp or perl/cgi

    it's the easiest way... store stuff in a db and spit it out on the page with a server-side language.

    i guess you "could" store the comment in an xml file... but you would still need a language to display it on the web (i think)
