    I just ran my (nearly finished) site through the HTML Validator on the W3C site, providing the DOCTYPE as HTML 4.01 FRAMESET. I had to make some minor adjustments to make it compliant... but I'm left with a problem.

    In my original code, I defined my Frameset as:

    <FRAMESET ROWS="0%,0%,*" BORDER=0>

    What this did was create two 'hidden' frames without any borders or representation that the frames exist at all... and the entire site was rendered into the last frame. Kinda difficult to explain, but it works nonetheless.
    The problem is that the validator didn't like the 'BORDER=0' statement, so I pulled it out and added 'FRAMEBORDER=0' to each <FRAME> tag. This all complys, but the problem I'm left with is a small white gap at the top of my browser, which are the two 'hidden' frames. Obviously I don't want this because it's quite an eyesore.

    Any ideas of how I can get rid of those gaps, but still stay validated?

    Thanks

    What might work is a little CSS trick:

    BODY {
    margin-top: 0px;
    }

    This will force the top margin to 0 on CSS-compliant browsers (which all browsers that will support HTML 4.01 are anyway).

    Don't define <BODY topmargin="0"> because W3C won't like that.
