Let's say, we have a link like this:
<a href="somelink.html">Anchor text</a>. How can I create a div, that will become visible "onmouseover" and will be exactly 10px hor. in ver. away from the link itself?

Can this be done via CSS and onmouseover or is this more of a JavaScript solution?

A fine example of the desired effect is this:

I don't really need the DIV to be following the cursor though, just a simple DIV that appears. I would use this solution, but I'd rather have a solution without so much JavaScript.

there's the nice titles but it uses javascript.

i don't think you can get away with doing something like this with css only... not yet anyways

You might be able to do some fancy sutff with the code:
    Code:
    <a>text<div>tooltip</div></a>
But it would require some crafty CSS positioning. In the end, nice titles is your best bet

    ;> Thanks for the replies.

Actually the thing with <a href="#" title="Tooltip text">Anchor</a> is quite nice I think I'll leave at at that since it works and I really don't want to use JavaScript when not really necessary.
