    Ok this is my web site: http://versus.f2o.org/wordpress/ it's not finnished yet but getting there.

    The problem

    I have the following rule in my style sheet:

    a:link {
    font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    color: #FFCC00;
    text-decoration: underline;
    }

    But the rule is being ignored, the links are just the generic garden variaty default blue links.

    AFAIK that rule should apply to every link on the page regardless... Anyone know whats going on and how to fix it?

    a:link, a:visited, a:active {
    font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    color: #FFCC00;
    text-decoration: underline;
    }

    i think a { } might also work.

    Cheers Stylise but that didn't work Hmmm I'm starting to think that Word Press has something to do with it... since I'm trying to build a WP theme.

    I have gone through the WP documentation from top to bottom and havent turned up anything in relation to the problem.

    Any other ideas?

    I have been tinkering with the css file which is located here:
    http://www.versus.f2o.org/wordpress/...Vi32/style.css

    I have changed the rules to:

    #blogcont a:link {
    font: bold 1em Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    color: #FFCC00;
    text-decoration: underline;
    }
    #blogcont a:visited {
    font: italic bold 1em Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    color: #FF6600;
    text-decoration: underline;
    }
    #blogcont a:hover {
    font: normal 1em Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    color: #FF6600;
    text-decoration: none;
    }

    Didn't do anything tho...

    I'm trying to create a WP theme. WP themes are like little minni web sites, all the templates, images, css and other needed files are kept in a folder (which is the name of the theme, in this case it's XVi32) under the theme directory.

    I have not looked at the markup, but are you sure you have links that are contained within any element with an ID of "blogcont"?

    Yup, thats why I find it weird that the rules are being ignored and links arn't being styled according to the rules.

    It's pretty simple; Those rules are not in your stylesheets.

    Somehow in wordpress that file is not getting linked to your page.. I edited your css with the "Edit CSS" extention for Mozilla and it does not show any rules for links, so I added the one(s) you want to add and they work fine.. see attatched file.

    So it is not a problem with your css, it is a problem with how wordpress and how your files are set up.
