Thanks for reading this thread. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is what I am trying to accomplish:

What I would like to do is click on a link to a .txt file and have its data displayed in a textbox on that same page, and be able to click another .txt link and replace the data in the textbox.

Any ideas on how to do this?

It code in ASP and it can probably be done with that. I'd question why you'd want to do that though as it seems a bit cumbersome. What ultimately are you trying to do?

You should be able to do this with an iframe without too much difficulty. If you absolutely need it in a text box, you could do it with a combination of JavaScript and a server-side script of some sort.

the text files will be serverside, and no, it doesnt have to be in a textbox, just in something that will display it. my goal is to offer something more user friendly that clicking on the link and having it pop up in notepad.

Serve them in an iframe and serve them from the server using osme script with substituted media type to avoid browser questions about whether to pop them up to noteepad or open them in notepad, save them, etc
