    Hi all,
I have been working on a site, www.getcheaper.co.uk. Now, up until now, I have not had any reported issues, except cross-browser incompatability (I have been testing on IE only).
Now, an issue has arisen from a friend who viewed the site.
    Example:
On this page, she cannot see ANY images in the product lists. its not as if the images havent loaded - ie: "image missing" blank box - but there is just nothing there !

Does anyone have any ideas as to what this could be?
I know that she is using a Virgin.net broadband connection.

    Cheers
    D

    Hey,
I tried opening the image in Photoshop, and I got an error: it said that an unknown or invalid marker type was found.
I am guessing it's the way you saved these images. I've had an instance where I saved a jpeg and didn't realize it was in CMYK format, so it ended up not being viewable through a web browser. I'm not saying this is what happened to you, because it is obviously viewable through some, so maybe that is not the problem. But I think you should probably open up all those images in Photoshop and do File->Save for Web to make sure that it is saved okay for web viewing.
Let me know if this helped.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the suggestion.
I myself have created the majority of these images (in Fireworks) and saved them all as gifs.
Now, we have a CMS, that we use to upload these images to the system, and are then assigned to each product.
What happens though, is when we upload the images, they get converted to .jpg . Hmmm I wonder if that is the issue ????

Oh, that's pretty weird that it converts them to jpg!
Maybe you should save them & upload as jpg so they won't get converted?

why don't you just do a batch action in photoshop to convert all your gifs that are in a folder to jpgs and then reupload?
or, you can try it with just 1 image and ask your friend if she can at least see that 1 image?

Alternatively, if it is the CMS causing the problem (changing file extension) upload them via FTP that way they will keep their original extensions.
