    Hi,

    A friend of mine is having trouble with his site. Lately, when he visits the main page, he gets a few broken images. The images are there, the paths are correct, but the browser (both IE and FF) will not load a few of the images, randomly. A refresh usually fixes it.

    The site uses a LOT of small to medium sized graphics in the design. However, a CSS based redesign is not currently an option at this point.

    Has anyone seen this before? If so, how can this be fixed. Will using gzip compression help?

    Thanks in advance.

    Does the page validate? Usually this fixes most weird bugs.

    Also, could it be related to the recent peering agreement snafu with various ISPs? It was reported that some routing issues existed across the Internet... but that was last week. Have you tried testing from different locations (ie. home vs. work) to see if the ISP might be having some DNS problems?

    If you have only tried on aa single computer then it may be the computer.It sounds like mabey a firewall.
    a patch for this problum would be
    HTML Code:
    <body onload="location.reload()"></body>
    of course this is only a patch.If it is only a single computer try changeing firewall settings if thats doing it.

    If the pictures are relitivly large or in a format like png(they are common problems) then you may have trouble downloading the images

    I'm not here for you, I'm here to raise your discomfort

    Sorry guys, I wasn't able to reply earlier. Just got home from school.

    Anyway, I have tried accessing the site from different computers, resulting in varying degree of broken images. Sometime all load, sometime only one or two are not loading. I'll see if Pyro's hack works for me.

    Also, the images are gifs and jpegs.

    I should have specified the site in my first post. The site in question is http://www.100megswebhosting.com/

    thanks for testing, may be it's validation issue, the index page doesn't validate. I'll see if that can be fixed. thanks.
