    i want to have a number of video clips, in mpg, swf, rm or which ever format that is easiest stored in folder on my webspace, the folder will be called: "videos"

    each film is about 5meg in size, but can convert it, shink it to suit best method.

    what is the best way to embed these films into my web page? ideaally i would like the user to select from a drop down box, the film they wish to see, and as the option changes the relevant movie will play in the webpage...

    what is the best method and an links to get me started please.

    Please help

    Flash would probably be the best format because it comes installed on many computers. The <embed> tag works well for this.

    I have a site that is video based. I tied every format but eventually settled on flash video (flv files) as they are the most supported format and will work on any system (windows or mac). I use a program called Sorenson Squeeze to convert the videos to flv format. This program can do batch convertions so you can output many videos in one go.

    I think most will say to use Flash based video. Fallout is correct, most every computer out there will have it already installed.
    Throw the link up for your site, I for one would like to see it when it is complete.
