    in 'contact us' i can't get the form just to send the e-mail and comments to my mail box. it keeps on opening up the e-mail (outlook) and sending it from there(and not even passing the data onto it). is it possible just to send it straight from the form???

    any help would be appriciated :classic:

    I think you will have to use server side script for that? If your server is PHP ready, the script is VERY simple.

    If you can't use php, I think it will be easier for you to maybe use some sort of service to send the form elements for you. There are several free ones out there, but you will probably have to deal with ads.

    curley_bhoy I sent you a pm..

    However mailing capabilities are not specific to PHP, do you have any other server side support?

    You don't have to learn php. Just use one of the pre writen scripts that are out on the web. Look in places like hotscripts.com

    The type of program you are looking for is commonly called Formmail or similar. Personally, I quite like this one http://www.mattsscripts.co.uk/mattfm.htm Full instructions come with the script.

    Using PHP, ASP, CGI, or something similar will allow you to send it directly to your email, the writer's, and other people. What does your host support?

    I noticed above you said only css and html so is your site on a server or is it on something else(assumeing server) if it is a free webhost that does not support cgi or php or simular technology then you will have to resort to useing a service that will submit for you. The reason you are incountering an error with outlook express is your form tag looks simular to:
    HTML Code:
    <form name="THE_NAME" method="post" action="mailto:YOUR_EMAIL">
    ...
    </form>
    three problums:
    • your email is given to spamers
    • you get an an error like your own
    • if there is no default mail cliant it does not work at all

    try google search:
    [searchweb]free form handeling[/searchweb]
    to find a form handler online.
    Hope this helps
