    I've done mouseover image replacement before using javascript, but what I'm trying to accomplish this time is something a little more complicated.

    I've drawn this black and white picture here,

    I want it so that when someone mouses over a different person or object in that picture that only that person or object comes into color and is a link to a different page (probably also have a text box hover that describes the link, but that's a whole different post).

    I could do this the way i know how with JS if the images didn't overlap eachother, but they do. So, does anyone have any bright ideas on how I could accomplish this?

    Any bit of help is wanted. I'm guessing i'll have to break apart the image into seperate pictures, but any ideas on the overlapping and stuff?

    Put each of the coloured images into individual div tags and absolutly position them over the b&w image. Then set them all to visibility:hidden; You can use some image maps to trigger a javascript or two to make the div's become visiblity:visible;

    Alternativly. This could easily be done in Flash with a bit of actionscript.
