    Hey. I have a site, and I put a new layer in it so that I could easily line up some images and text in a square in the center of the screen. The layer is supposed to line up with an image above it, and i physically lined it up like that in dreamweaver. Whenever I go to view the page it's always offset from what I set it to be! It is usually over to the right more than what I originally set it to be. How can I make it so that it stays where I put it when I design it and view it? Also I noticed that when the window is not maximized it appears in the completely wrong position from where I set it. Any ideas?

    Thanks
    John

    The layer must be set based on "left and top" of the window.

    <div style="position: absolute; width: 250px; height: 250px; z-index: 1; left: 250px; top: 250px; background-color: #FFFFFF" id="layer">
    &nbsp;</div>
