    Hi

    I think this css stuff is beginning to sink in hopefully

    lets say I needed to indent the first THREE lines of a paragraph to 4cm
    and the last FOUR lines to 6cm how should i write the style.

    I understand the <p> </p> tags will change the whole paragraph
    but how do i change individual lines as asked above?

    Thanks again!!

    I don't believe you can change individual lines except for the first one (check out text-indent, among other things).

    try using spans and see what happens:

    Code:
    <style>
      .indent4cm {margin-left: 40px}
      .indent6cm {margin-left: 60px}
    </style>

    <p>
      <span style="indent4cm">
        Line 1
        Line 2
        Line 3
      </span>
      <span style="indent6cm">
        Line 4
        Line 5
        Line 6
        Line 7
      </span>
    </p>
