I created a calendar for my client, using the most basic method possible..tables, tds, trs. It looks complicated and I know updating each cell will take a while.

Please visit the following page and you are free to view the source of it. (i'm the designer)

I have one option for this calendar: Using a CSS DIV layout for the calendar, which would mean that I would create the cell boxes (for each date) in one div, then use the z-axis, or hover to allow the numerals of the calendar (1, 2, 3, 4, 5..21, 22, 23) to "float" on a layer above the layout. I came up with this idea because on another project I wanted to place a Flash navigation menu on a CSS-DIV page layout, and the only way to do it was to place the Flash on another layer.

Should I roll with this plan or is there an even easier way to design a calendar in CSS or HTML?

p.s: The function of my interactive calendar is to show the date and also display a little snippet of information that is linked to various pages.
