    Hello, im a first time poster here, and my first question might be a difficult one.

    For some reason IE6.0 doesnt support PNG transparency. I need some kind of script to make all PNG images on a page transparant in IE 6.0. The images themselves are in <img src="x.png" alt=""/> tags. Some help?

    Thx in advance.

    IE does not support png alpha transparancy, hince one reason for my signature below. However, a few workarounds exist, in perticular one of its propietary filters 'AlphaImageLoader' will allow you to do this.

    Thanks for your reply!

    Can you give me an example of the workaround? Keep in mind my images-sizes (height and width) are variable, because the image that will be used is based on data in a database. Lets say I have a tag:
    Code:
    <img src="variableimage.png"/>

    P.S. I'm a Firefox user myself and im pretty frustrated about IE6.0 not supporting basic png transparency. Weird thing is IE5 supported it and IE 7 will support it too.
    </offtopic>

    Thx in advance!

    You can get a full tutorial here. It is not an ideal solution since it requires javascript, and if your user has javascript turned off(like I do by default), this is essentially useless.
