    how do your repeat an image (shadow) down the y axis on the container box on the left and the right hand side.

    got a small image which i would like to represent the shadow on the left and right. teh container box will be 500px wide, centered and have no margins at the top and bottom.

    any tips, cheers

    You can repeat any image on both x and y axis, but not on multiple sides, leaving the center empty. For that, you need multiple containers.

    To vertically repeat a background image in CSS, use the [minicode]background-repeat[/minicode] attribute with a value of [minicode]repeat-y[/minicode].

    cheers, thought i could just place images for the shadow either side of the container, ah well. could probably use a backround for the body to give the desired effect.
