    Hi all,

I was wondering if there is a way to style text vertically using CSS. I am translating the image here to html. My question refers to the word "weekly." It's not a link so I could always just include the text in the image, but I guess I'm a purist and want to know if there is a more difficult way.

    Thanks

PS this layout is clearly its natal stages, so not yet seeking critiques

According to http://www.ssi-developer.net/css/vertical-text.shtml this is an IE only feature, as usual visual filters.

Go with the image! I think that when CSS3 comes around it's in there but until then, SIMPLIFY!

the link is blocked for me right now at school ("nudity") so just a suggestion: if you style a container with position: relative; or position: fixed; then you can do a position: fixed; top: 45%; on your word, which should place it it right in the middle, vertically, of your container!

oh i see... not vertical centering, but rotating the text 90*. Go with the image (or SVG/flash if you want to be cutting edge, haha, but IE doesn't do SVG...)

    Thanks guys!

Straight-Up: which link had "nudity"? mine or the one from bfsog? Truth is, there isn't nudity in either one, so there might be a problem.

Oh, nothing had nudity; our school filter stinks.
