    I suspect the only way to get the flash movie to resize is to use javascript to pass parameters to the movie (I don't do flash so I dunno how).

    Ask yourself: do you REALLY have to have it resize? Rather than make life very difficult for yourself, why not float the box in the middle of the window and prehaps have just a single background element resize accordingly to counteract the expanse of white space (which will only appear in very large windows anyway - and even then, people with 19 inch monitors probably haven't got the browser maximsed anyway - also, won't resizing flash movies really screw up the resolution and diminish the quality of the movie).
