Simple question, not so sure about its answer: How would one go about making a content box auto-extend?

E.G: My friend has a content box with a tab at the top saying "content" and a cap on the bottom and a solid background and border.

I want it so that when a larger amount of text is entered then the box can hold, it automatically extends downward.

    Any ideas?

    Content box?

Do you mean, an element that your friend can enter text into?

As a textarea can cope with multiple lines.

No, I mean a box on the middle of the screen where the webpages content is in.

    Not like a textarea.

Code wise, it would just be a DIV.

If you set it to auto, that should do you.

    Not a scroll bar...

I want the DIV itself to get bigger, or the bottom cap go down so it looks bigger.

    I've seen it done.

Or set a min-height to it, so that it stays at say 300px until there is more than 300px in it, and then it would expand to fit the content.
