    Hi,
i've created simple web presentation (http://www.metalex.sk) and the site works fine in IE, Firefox, Netscape and Opera. Today I've found out HTML validation tool on net, so I tried to validate my site and I got lot of errors. The site was designed completely in Adobe GoLive CS.
I consider GoLive to be expensive tool, which should create regular, working and error-free web sites. I cannot understand why it is using tags and parameters, which are not in accordance to HTML standard!
My question is... Is it really very neccesary to have regular HTML coding? Should I be affraid of my site not working correctly? I don't know HTML very much, so it's almost impossible for me to correct those errors.
    Thanks for your reactions...

That link didn't work for me so I couldn't check the errors.

Ah WYSIWYG ... they are touchy No WYSIWYG editor will create error free valid sites. They are made for the people out there who know nothing of html to have a site up to talk about their pets.

If you're designing a web site for a company, then you should rely on any WYSIWYG editor to make the site for you. It might work now but in a few years from now when browsers changes it might crash and burn.

You want to create a site that you don't have to spend thousands of dollars every year to re-code because IE changed the way it will accept CSS

If you are really getting into web designing, learn HTML get a few good books and check out a few helpfull sites.

It's working for me, but it's true there is being made some DNS registration change of domain today, so there might be access problems. Anyway, you're right and I will try to clean up my code probably. I'm graphics designer, so it's more natural for me to use wysiwyg editors...

To begin with, you're not using the correct document type, so you will get more errors that way.

Replace <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> with <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Frameset//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/frameset.dtd"> on your index. And then the border attribute isn't valid.

Adobe golive cs is a professional standards based design package, not a homepage editor. If your pages are not validating correctly then you have not configured the software properly.
    End of Line.

Does anybody know how the search engines look at code? Does format matter?
