    Hi,

I have a table cell where, in CSS, I've set the height to 165px.
I also have padding in the cell, top-padding, of 135px.

In Firefox, the table cell is 165px high, and the top-padding inside the cell is 135px.
In IE, the table cell is 300px high (165 + 135) AND has top-padding inside the cell of 135px.

This problem must be encountered pretty often - how do you deal with it?

    Thanks,
    Heather

I have used "margin-top" in the past.

Is that supposed to do the same thing as padding? Because it doesn't - the text just stays all the way at the top of the cell...

You're correct, not the same thing. I used it with a nested div. The parent div had the margin-top, so the child div with the content was pushed down by the margin of the parent div. It's not the best hack, but it works...

I can't do that though - I don't have access to the source html file, only the stylesheet!
