Hi, I need help, I have been trying to solve my problem in my own, but after 3 days it has been obvious i need some help.
I have a website i have designed it with dreamweaver, everything is ok about it, i dont know good coding in html, but i can understand html, and i know basic java and basic object oriented programming. I want to know how to make an organized file data base, because soon i will have files for download in my website.
Lets say I have 1000 maps of some specific game, and I wish to display them, now how can i make all those into some flexible way that on the users option, he can enter keyword to search for some specific map, or he click click a link to make the maps into specific categories, he can click to make them in most popular order and things like that, basically i want to know how to keep an organized website, because i can't manage to make a table for each file and end up with 1 thousand tables on one page. How can i make it easy for myself to design, designing a 1000 tables putting a picture in each and a title and everything is extremely difficult and i dont think thats what they do, e.g. ( this website gives thousands of maps in a very organized way ) Also, I want to be able to show how many times that download has been viewed downloaded, and if users could rate that download. Please tell me what I will need to learn, which scripts my website will have to support...

If I were you I would
    * See if there is a CMS out there that does what you want
    * See if I could join forces with an existing site w/ this functionality (maybe the best bet, as more people will see your stuff that way)
