    I am trying to modify this layout that I found online but I have trouble specifiying or calculating the height. Here is the HTML code (attached)

    & here is the CSS file:

    Code:
    html,body{background-color: #817e9e; margin:0;padding:0;}

    body{font: 76% arial,sans-serif;text-align:center}

    p{margin:0 10px 10px}

    a{display:block;color: #981793;padding:10px}

    div#header h1{height:100px;line-height:80px;margin:0;
      padding-left:10px;background: #333;color: #79B30B;}
    /* browsers automatically have margins/paddings set up for h1, h2..etc */
    /* height refers to the the height of the h1 box (ie. height of heading box increases as px increases) */
    /* line height refers to the space between each line; also, the space
       from the top of the browser to the h1 text (ie. pushes the header text down as px increases) */

    div#container{text-align:left}
    div#content p{line-height:1.3em} /* space between each line */
    div#content {border: 1px solid black; }
    div#navigation{border: 1px solid black; background:#9a9a9a}
    div#extra{border: 1px solid black; background:#392f96}
    div#footer{background: #333;color: #FFF}
    div#footer p{margin:0px;padding:5px 10px}

    div#container{width:704px;margin:0 auto} /* top/bottom margin=0; right/left=auto centered */
    div#content{float:left; height: 500px; width:500px}
    div#navigation{float:right;width:200px}
    div#extra{float:right;clear:right; height: 368px; width:200px}
    div#footer{clear:both;width:100%}
    Basically I want the height of the div "content" to be 500px or extended a lil bit longer. (I set that in the css file). However, I also want the right column (which has two divs... "navigation" and "extra".) to be set to the correct height and match the content height as well. How do I calculate this? I estimated the "extra" div to be 368 px and didnt include a height property for the "navigation" div. It looks okay in Firefox, but it is not correct when viewed in IE6.. the "extra" div column is actually longer than the content div. Why is that and how can i fix this?

    I'm using IE6.0 and it looks fine to me.

    Looks the same with FF or IE (on my PC).
