alright, so i'm new to this and i designed my home page in dreamweaver. i previewed it in firefox only, though, and i posted it on the web. one of my friends said the home page looked like crap, though. I wonderred why and i went to it in IE and discovered that it indeed looked like crap when i used exploder. is there something wrong with my index or css file that made this happen? or am I just stupid? or both..?

You're going to have to give us a link or some code to work with. There are probably little issues here and there. You should *never* eschew testing in IE. Give us some code, and we'll try and help you out

Try using display: inline instead of float: left for your list. Alternatively, try floating your ul left as well as your lis.

Moreover, you give #banner `position: left'. It's possible IE is choking on this (as, last I checked, the position property does not have `left' as one of its possible values).
