Ok, first, I am totally new with this. I do have knowledge with html. I maintain the websites at my job. Now, I am designing a website for my husbands band. I am using Dreamweaver 4. Almost done, just tweeking here and there. BUT.....
I want to add a guestbook. We people can leave comments on the page, and everyone can see everyone's comments. I should tell you, at this time, I have not yet decided where I am even going to put the website. I have been looking at several places, but haven't decided yet, so I don't know what they support or don't support. But where can I find a script? or something to create this basic guestbook, and how do I add it into dreamweaver 4. Will I be able to view what it will look like in dreamweaver before actually launching the website? And any suggestions on a good host for the website? I have insight broadband if that matters. Anyway, any help, advice and/or suggestions, well I can't tell you how much I would appreciate it.:lick:

You'll be using PHP/MySQL for the guestbook.

You can find many free scripts already written that you will need to
upload and install. Most webhosts allow PHP scripting and most have
    MySQL database with your account.

If you pick someone like www.cleverdot.com that has cheap hosting
for about $30.00 per year, and that includes the domain name, you can
utilize a feature where they install it for you with a click of a button
(called "Fantastico") Other hosts offer that too, but cleverdot.com is
one I can think of off-hand.

You won't be able to test it at home, so you'll have to get your webhost
and get things set up to test it online. For $30.00, it's no big deal to
subscribe and get started with it right away. You can use Dreamweaver
to do your site, and then customize the guestbook to fit your site and
    your needs.

You can even have a blog (WordPress) ... that's free too, and Fantastico
installs it all for you automatically.

Have fun and come back to this forum for answers to questions.
