    how do i get my favicon.ico to be transparent like the wdf?

    always seems to be a white background but i am uploading it onto a site that generates it for me. should i do it manually? anyone suggets any good software?

    Here's what I do.

    1) Use Microsoft Paint to create the icon (16 X 16 pixels),
    then save-as "favicon.bmp"

    2) Use irfanview ( http://www.irfanview.com/ ) to load
    "favicon.bmp", then save-as "favicon.ico". When saving,
    you get to point to the pixel color you wish to make transparent.

    cheers man, tried that but i realised that because i'm using a star shape it didn't look very good so i've decided to just leave it.

    thanks for the tip tho
