I'm trying to create an effect like this:
    http://www.haddonfieldgallery.com/mockup2.jpg

However, it completely screws up in Internet Exploder. I've tried the IE7 hack, but that doesn't help in this situation. Any ideas?

Here is the site in question:

I can't explain the changes, so I made a copy to show ...

    Is this close?

note: the hacks are removed too.

EDIT: I see now it's still not right with Firefox though ... oh well.

Thanks, you rock! I'll just do an ie.css.

If I figure out a better way to do this, I can always change it, but for now I'll just stick with it like this. Anyways, you deserve another "you rock" so here it is: you rock!

Try setting [minicode]height: 0;[/minicode] and [minicode]position: relative;[/minicode] on the boxes with negative margins. I couldn't see a real problem with the example you gave, but maybe I didn't look hard enough; anyway, that solution should fix things in IE. Source.

I tried that, but it did nothing Many times things don't work for me for absolutely no reason (once I absolutely couldn't get CSS menus to work, and it worked the next day without changing anything), so I'll try it again tomorrow :P
