    Hi All,

    got my site looking nice in IE but now some strange things have strarted happening in Firefox just on certain pages.

    If you go over the buttons on the right then part of the text in the middle starts flickering,
    Product design sheffield
    on another of the pages one of the flash movies seems to flicker behind the other one:
    Product design sheffield

    yet on this page it is all fine:
    Product design sheffield

    all these pages have the same code on Iv just copied and pasted it between them.

    Has anyone got any ideas on whats causing these probs? the buttons are created using css rolover images,

    here is how the code looks for the links within the html page:

    <a href="concepts.htm" title="concepts" class="concept" accesskey="c"></a>

    here is my css:

    a.concept:link, a.concept:visited {display: block; background-image:url(images/Concept.gif);height: 63px; width: 63px; background-repeat:no-repeat; background-position: 0px 0px;}
    a.concept:hover, a.concept:active {background-image:url(images/Concept.gif); text-decoration: none; float:left; background-repeat:no-repeat; background-position: -63px 0px;}

    any ideas?

    That's a known problem with IE.

    I found this explanation and a possible solution:

    Read the bottom part of that page for a method you could try.

    Was this resolved? Looks fine on FF 1.5.0.7 on Mac OSX.

    cracked it,

    first i fixed the big flickering problems by adding 'overflow:hidden' to the div containing the flickering parts.

    found this answer here:

    http://www.re-entity.com/FF_Flicker_Bug.htm

    then I used technique pointed out by mlseim to correct the small flickering problems with the buttons by adding the buttons initial state as a background image to the containing divs,

    thanks for the info
