Hi. Ive got a form with a drop down list which is set to a default value on a contact page. If it possible to have it so when a link to the contact page somewhere else on the site is clicked the default value of the drop down list changes

It could be done with PHP.

The page with the drop-down list would have the extension .php (instead of .html).
That page would read a cookie and create the drop-down list using PHP, depending
on the cookie value, setting the default value.

The other pages would use PHP to set the cookie. You could also utilize some
Javascripting, but only if it's not a requirement to make your site work, since a few
    might turn-off Javascripting.

So you would need to tell us more about your coding experience and possibly a
link to what you have so far ... so we can see your page with the drop-down list.
