    Hi all

I've been asked to design some web pages for acces via PDAs - Mainly Pocket PC's like iPAQs and Jornadas.

At the moment I'm just working with a 240px width page and keeping graphics to a minimum.

Are there any issues that I should be aware of when designing PDA pages?

Any important limitations other than file size & window size?

    Any links to useful resources?

    Thanks in Advance

Use only simple HTML with no fancy tables or anything.

You can download a Pocket PC emulator somewhere at Microsoft's site that includes Pocket IE. Remember that a Pocket PC's processor is much, much slower than a desktop computer and it takes much longer to render things the more complex they are.

IIRC Pocket IE's rendering engine is IE3.

Pocket PC's support tables, but no divs iirc.

Processor time is an issue for JS stuff, but the big issue would be bandwidth, unless it's an Intranet or connecting via 3G Network.

Thanks - an IE3 base would explain why my pages are looking a little strange - paragraph breaks & centering etc not working as they should - Dreamweaver is probably using divs - I'll set it to use the older tags.

I've used simple table and they seem to work fine.

So far I've done a mini site with 8 pages of information with just a simple header graphic - and the whole thing comes in at 52k in total.

That emulator seems like it would be very useful - Microsoft.com here I come :classic:

Yeah definitely go with bare bones HTML. Also, I have heard a table width of 225 fits pretty well on most PDA's.
