    Im mid creating a new site with no topic just a design idea and can fugre out how i get a div to span the entire page. I have tried width: 100%; in the css, but to no avail

    are you sure that you've set the page to '
    body { margin: 0px; padding: 0px;}
    '?
    that could be the problem

    It's only frustrating because browsers do everything differently from each other. If they actually followed web standards, web design wouldn't be the living hell it is today.

    haha true! although my most recent commission worked prefectly in IE6, IE7 and all FFoxes, im not sure about the rest though, i've sorted the main ones right off! real time saver!

    ive not had any problems with cross browser compatibility since i started using Divs and CSS
