    ive seen several threads on this topic, however none of them seemed to resolve the issue. to be specific...

    allow the contents of a table/row/column to remain 100% opaque while changing the opacity of the background color/image.
    example...

    <td background="image.jpg" style="filter: alpha(opacity=50)">drum'n'bass is for me.</td>

    this will set the whole table and the text to 50% opacity, i want to keep the text at 100% and allow this to work in IE (ive tried using png24's already)
