im trying to get a background image to fit the whole background of a page which is bigger than the standard 800x600(i think??). I read if the image is smaller than the page it will repeat itself, which is the case, so is there anyway i can check the page size so i can adjust the image accordingly? thanks

Only with JS ... There was quite a lengthy discussion about it over at the CodingForums

Along side checking the JS forum, it really depends on what the image is. If the image resizes nicely, you could just use height and width percentages as well. Take a look at the top frame portion of www.motdidr.com/we3/frame.htm.
