    heres what i did

    .popContainer{
    background-image:url("graphics/bg2.gif");
    background-repeat:repeat-y;
    width:600px;
    }

    but it still sstops before extending off the browser .. i see some sites where it goes clear to the edge.. how i accomplish this?

    The background image will only repeat for how tall (or wide) the div goes. If the content in the div only extends half of the page, so will the div - unless you tell it otherwise. try
    Code:
    height: 100%;
    note that this will only work if the content div extends the full height of the page

    so is there a way to make the graphic extend to the bottom if there is no content to fullfill it? guess i could just put <br />?

    if anyone else has this problem

    i just did this to solve it



    html, body{ height: 100%;}

    and the div my image is on i did

    height:100% also..
