    Hello!

I am having a positioning issue with CSS and Firefox. I have an absolutely positioned element that is going to serve as a menu, but Firefox keeps adding a left and top margin despite me setting margins and padding to zero.

For the time being, I have the left and top positioning set to zero, yet you can see the result here: http://www.russellgrimm.com/lclsonline/redesign/

Something is amiss and I can't figure it out. Please help!

Edit: IE6 (haven't checked in 7 yet) adds the left padding, but not the top.

I'm not sure why you are using conditionals (for IE) and all of the positioning.
Those things are not needed to make it look right in all browsers.

I made a simple example of what I'm talking about. Look at how there are
no conditionals, no positioning and much simpler.

I didn't do much with the menu graphics/etc. ... I'm just trying to
make a point of not using conditionals and the over-use of positioning
when it's not necessary. Try to keep things simple and make it easier
to keep things in-line with all browsers.

The liquidity of the layout breaks up in older versions of IE without the conditional statements. Thanks, but I guess I will try something different for the menu!
