    Kade ... Best to use a Flash Player that you can embed.

    There are several free flash players. The media needs to be MP3 only, for audio files.

    The disadvantage of a free player is that you can't really customize the "look" too much.

    ok but if i embed w/ flash t hey have to have flash player which i can embed w/ swfobject.. but if i didnt go that route and embedded straight into html.. it would be less messy .. would it not? so should i stick w/ just the default player for friendliness..?

    Doesn't swf object overlay the original html?
    Personally I'd do a customised nice .flv player with Flash overlaying a normal run of the mill media player link with html, if they haven't got Flash.

    yea .. b/c swfobject displays whatever is in that div if they dont have flash.. forgout about that.. thanks ferro

    It does fall in line with other issues like browser size, etc.
    Most people have Flash, and use Flash, just like most people
    have larger browsers now. It sort of becomes a normal, standard
    thing that you expect most people to have.

    I know there are the exceptions, but you need to determine
    what the number of casualties you'll have. If it's easy, use it.
    If you decide later it doesn't work ... change it.
