    Hello all
Im not sure if this the right forum, so please direct me if im wrong
I have a few questions and a problem and hoping you fine people can help me real fast.
Im using windows vista basic, and writing a webpage using notepad. It's a simple page and im (almost) sure all the tags are right.
My problem is when I save the file as text-format file (txt) with html extension; and try veiwing it in my web browser, the html code I wrote is visable and not the content. What can I be doing wrong?
    Here's what im doing (briefly)
When saving the page I select file, then save as, the save as window pops up with three drop-down menu's at it's bottom.
    file name: joe
save as type: text documents (*.txt) txt is selected by default
encoding: unicode I select unicode from the menu
I click save, then open up my web browser, choose open from the file menu, browse then select my file. I click open to show my page in the browser.
The html code is visable and not the content. What can I possibly be doing wrong?
Please, any help or advice will be greatly appreciated

You want to select "All Files" in the save as type drop down, and give the file a .htm or a .html direction.

    No problem.

Also not sure if this works on Vista but someone told me if you quote the filename (as in put quotes around the filename) notepad will save the file as the extension, regardless of what the save as type is.

Example: lets say the save as type is text, but you type "file.html" the file will be interpreted as html.

    Good luck

    Could be many reasons.

Check, and double check the filename
Check that both the html file and the image file are in the same folder.
