Web based documentation is a good content for site and it's useful for customers... What software are you using to make it (please do not tell me about robohelp, doc-o-matic and other expensive tools)? I'm looking for optimal solution for my web application.
    Thanks!

I would say using PDF's seems to work the best across all platforms ... PC, Mac, etc.

    CutePDF writer is free.

Hm, thanks, but PDF is not a good choice for online help. I need html help with index and full text search function like online MSDN library: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/default.aspx

That's really just a site devoted to documentation.

You could also look into wiki-writing programs too. We use trac but it has a lot more features that you probably do not need such as a ticketing system. But the wiki part of it is great for documentation.

I have an eye for detail like you'd never believe.
