    I've always embedded flash swf vids w/ SWFobject, that way it assist in making sure the viewer gets the correct version of flashplayer needed..


    so for quicktime is there anything similar to make sure the viewer has a compatible player to display the video...? should i use javascript to embed a qt vid into html?

    yea but didn't really find any type of JS that would initiate an express install if you didn't have the latest version of quicktime player.. like SWFobject does for flash
