    Hi,
My clients wants to be able to edit and change the website online, without having to FTP. Basically a member login with right to change the web pages. I realize this is a very standard thing nowadays, but since I just started figuring PHP out, this is quite a challenge for me.
Does anybody know of any open source code out there that I could use? In the tutorials here, I found the code to build the login part. But once the client has logged in, how do I go from there, how do I build a 'changeable' page?
Or, is there an easier way to go about this?

    Thank You!
    Leyla

    This really depends on ...

    1) How many people need a login (1 password, or many passwords).
    2) Changing just some text? How much content?
    3) How often are changes made?

This could go from a very simple (basic text editor), to a full-blown
Rich-Text editor and a database to change images, etc.

Describe how complex the client needs the "content management" to be.

Leyla , try searching online for "content management systems" or a CMS , I certainly came across a few before . A CMS is what web design companies offer there customers. It specially designed for easy management of content.

yeah, cms is what you want. There are a ton of different types, coldfusion, php, asp, etc. If you are wanting simplicity, look for one that is XML driven and does not require a database, much easier to use. I found this one, http://www.yoursitecms.com/Content_M...er_reviews.htm, and it just picks up on the existing code and your client can log in through the browser and edit the content. Just be careful in choosing a cms, some are over developed and may have features you dont need, and some can be very generic. It will also depend on what languages you server supports.
