    I had to use some negative margins to get the page to align here:

    As a result, the h2 tagged heading when to the back of the flash object. To fix this, I attempted to use z-index. This is how I assigned it:

    Note: Absolute is the ID for the h2 element.

    #absolute {
    position: absolute:
    z-index: 1;
    }

    #flvPlayer {
    z-index: -1;
    float: left;
    padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px;
    margin: -5px 0px 0px 0px;
    }

    It'd be so nice if z-index worked like you'd expect it should.. But in my experience (and according to http://www.w3schools.com/css/pr_pos_z-index.asp), it doesn't take effect unless the element has a "position" defined. Even then, it seems to take some messing with...

    Z indices are weird, particularly with regard to Flash. I would recommend giving the Flash a z index of 0 (I don't know that I've seen negative z indices) and give the element you want appearing over it a very high one (like 4000) to see if it works appropriately.

    You need to make sure to export your SWF as a transparent background.

    i.e. <param name="wmode" value="transparent" />

    If you are using JavaScript to write the embed code you'll need to add the variable/value code within that as well. You still may need to adjust your z-index but without this it'll never work.
