I apologise for the vague subject title... it's kind of hard to explain. Also I will add as a prerequisite to clicking on the links - I advise you to not read the text if you are prone to intolerance opinion-wise; I say this only to protect me from the forum's rules. :| I have political and religious references in the website text so read at your own risk, though reading it is not mandatory when it comes to assisting me so it really shouldn't be an issue to begin with. Just wanted to clear that up.

    Anyway...
This is kinda weird. I recently uploaded a page to my new subdomain to see if it looked all right, and... it didn't. Somehow the transition from my Geocities testing page to my FTP client got a bit wiry.
The only difference between both pages is that my CSS is external for my subdomain version. Geocities has the html all together, and it looks totally fine. I don't know what "\par" is standing for in this case...
Here's the link to my messed up subdomain version.
    Here's the Geocities version.

Anyone know what the beef is? I'm kinda on a tight schedule for the subdomain and this little roadblock totally isn't cool. :| Any help whatsoever would be nice. Thanks in advance!

Below is your HTML with the /par removed and cleaned-up.
Try copying and pasting that into your "index.html" file.

You are right, something with Geocities is adding something
at the end of each line. I just copied your HTML into Wordpad
and did a "replace" of /par to remove all instances, then cleaned-up
    the
header.

    Code:

SterlingSea

Not much to explain about SterlingSea - a blog and a graphic collective.

About Misti: I'm obviously the webowner. I'm 19 years old as of March 12; I was born in Broadbeach, Australia, and currently live in Indiana (and yes, I still have my Aussie accent). I have the generic blond hair/blue eyes appearance which actually kinda sucks for various reasons. I live with my dad, who is a 38-year-old neurosurgeon, and sometimes my mum, who works for a pharmaceutical business but also is a photojournalist, which is why she's hardly ever home these days. I also have two brothers, one is 22 and lives in Australia with his wife and baby daughter, and my little brother passed away when he was eight years old. It'll be six years ago on December 14th.

I like to call myself fairly normal; I used to cheer for awhile but it sucked, and I play tennis and softball for my high school. I like to draw, make fun of myself and cry at dumb movies nobody else cries at. I also like to make icons and screw around in PSP when I have spare time away from school, work and occupying myself with the company of friends and family. I like playing the Sims and talking about my little brother and hanging out with my friends, who aren't total losers like me. I'm a Super Smash Bros. GOD and chances are I could cream you. >:| BRAWL

That said, you can probably guess I like video games. You're wrong - I love them. It's not incredibly common for girls like me to take interest in that kind of thing, but seriously... I am obsessed. My favourite games are Fire Emblem (Sacred Stones is the best), Yoshi's Island, the .hack volumes, Baten Kaitos, Phoenix Wright, the LOZ series (who doesn't?), the oh-so-cliche Pokemans, and, of course, Super Smash Bros. I take interest in anything from FPS to RPGs (excluding the whole Guild Wars/World of Warcraft scene), doesn't matter to me - I'll give it a try.

I also really like to read. My favourite series is the Left Behind series - it's a Christian bestseller, and though I do not associate myself with Christianity, I loved these books entirely. I fell in love with the characters from the get-go... too bad they all died. Hey, that's not a spoiler, either - it's Armageddon. Another series I liked before I even had heard of Left Behind is the Time Quartet. Very articulate books that make you think, plus they remind me of my little brother. :)

I don't normally watch a lot of television unless it's with friends or my dad, but I take special interest in American politics, so I often watch things like Hardball or Meet the Press. My favourite political shows are, as can be expected for my nature, The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. I also like baseball and football, but I hate basketball... sorry. Other shows I watch (in no particular order) are Scrubs, CSI (Vegas, please; I like almost any criminal justice-type shows), GITS:SAC, FLCL, Space Ghost: Coast to Coast, Samurai Champloo, Cyborg 009, any Miyazaki films, Reno 911, and everyone's staple - Mythbusters.

Like most everyone else, I'm also really into music. One of my favourite bands is Daft Punk; I've liked them for a long time, despite their recent mainstreaming thanks to that bastard Kanye, but whatev. I also love Coldplay, they are just amazing. Here's a list of more musicians because I'm lazy - Globe, Frou Frou, Telepopmusik, Akeboshi, AC/DC, Home Made Kazoku, UVERworld, Anberlin, Porcupine Tree, Chevelle, the Pillows, Modest Mouse, Blue October, the Fitness, Chaba, Fleetwood Mac, Tracy Chapman, Third Eye Blind, Sugar Ray, aaand Keane. :D

Internet-wise (and some of this applies offline also, I've noticed), I can be rude, hypocritical, obnoxious, stupid, perverted, and whiny. I also have the wit of a three-year-old but I'm usually a nice person and easy to get along with. I am pro-life; that is, I would under no circumstances ever get an abortion, nor do I approve of most unjustified cases of abortion. I know many people do not agree with me - "it's my body," they say. Actually, that's all they say. I've never heard of any other side to it. But anyway, politically I associate myself as Libertarian, and I usually prefer Democratic or Liberal leaders (I'm pro-Hillary and pro-McCain... pro-anyone who isn't Barack Obama). I'm anti-vivisection, pro-environment, pro-peace, a vegetarian, etc... but I am very openminded and try not to judge others by their opinions, and hardly ever look down at someone for them.

I've had a bit of a rough life. I've experimented with several drugs and drank alcohol on a regular basis at one point. I was also anorexic and am still recovering from it. I haven't really been the same since my little brother died, but I am trying to get by and am doing much better than I was, say, a year ago. I believe in God, though I don't really affiliate myself with any specific organised religion, but the decision to believe in God was very hard, especially after I lost my bro; regardless, I am confident with it. My health is good but I've had some pretty weird scares before; once my doctor thought I had diabetes, another time he thought I had ALS. lol w/e

I've been straight-edge since New Year's Day of 2007 and am quite proud. C: I have brought these things up simply because I am not much ashamed of them, since many people go through rough patches like me and I'd like to think that by admitting my flaws and mistakes, it might help other people with their own. If you want someone to talk to, hit me up - I'll be the ears you're looking for.

Anyway... that's the rundown on me. If you relate and think I'm cool enough to get to know better, let me know at my livejournal. I don't bite.

Thank you for the input. Unfortunately it proved not to be Geocities, because nothing has changed.
I went over my html so I don't think I'm missing anything... I've never had this happen before. It's weird.

What are you using to edit your HTML?
    You should use Notepad.
I'm wondering if there's some RTF (rich text format) thing happening.

Tch, you're right. I had Wordpad open instead. Can't imagine for the life of me why I was using it, but the problem is fixed. Thank you so much.

That's exactly what I saw thinking; RTF control codes are prefixed with backslashes.
