    I have this site: www.facelessbook.com

I'm not a web guy, i do video. So this is tricky... But I want it done right.

The site is running well ( so it seems :P ) in Safari

Internet Explorer sends things all out of wack. I am stumped.

Mostly, the left container is pushed over to the right in IE...

Below is all the code from my css file (style.css)
    Many thanks in advance.
    my email is contact@davezak.com

I would be very carefull about using the look of this site, facebook probably have more lawyers than you.:cheeky:

I would probably change the colour scheme at least.

As for the problem in Internet Explorer, this is a common problem in IE that is widly known.
Read THIS page which may help you position, this site helped me when i had that trouble.

Ya I have thought about legalities. If it gets into legal action I'll take it down and redesign safely. I think I'll get the most attention this way for now.

regarding your link.. I have tried using static, relative and absolute, but then that messes up other areas that are set to float... they rely on each other. i guess. I just need someone to tell me what to do :| I have tried my best with the resources I can find.

    what would you suggest?

Here you go. I made the left DIV box non related to the main content. Before it was made inside the box and contrainted to that, but now it is free and on its own.

so you made a change in the HTML not the CSS????

it works in explorer just fine!

Ill track down what you did and make the changes to the rest of the pages.

    great thank you.

I basically moved the DIV box (in the HTML) outside the main content box. Then reapplyed the CSS, the DIV box has the same CSS ive just moved where it is in the document

I would have never figured that out.

    thank you.
any other coding suggestions before I tell people about the site? I am anticipating a lot of hits.

    3 Easy Steps

    1. Research and write notes (paper first)
    2. Carry out notes on site - Content
    3. Get everything ready and fool proof before launch.

    Dont launch half done,

    Hope this helps

Redesign it. Playing off the facebook name is novel, if a little unimaginitive. Stealing their look is weak, and will not get you attention, as you believe. It will only get you disdain and a cease and desist order or copyright infringement suit that could make you lose your domain name.

The concept of your site is fantastic. Stealing the facebook look makes it appear at first look like a lame attempt to copy their concept.

Change the look, or your site will fail. This, i guarantee. I have over a decade of experience backing up that statement. It's your decision if you choose to accept my free, very valuable advice.
