    Works correct in firefox and IE6, but IE7 isn't working.

    I did this quick little website some time ago as a favor and the client (and I use that term loosely because they are not paying) activated their domain today and called me to upload the site. As I did, I noticed this bug that I either never noticed or never resolved.

    Basically the problem is that I am using a css rollover technique to display some text in another location using positioning etc. IE7 seems to be uneffected by my positioning commands.

    Here is the page link.

    Here is the pertinent css:

    Code:
    .category span{ /*CSS for text box*/
    position: absolute;
    width:273px;
    height:265px;
    background:url(../img/brown-bg.png) repeat-y;
    padding: 5px 20px 0 20px;
    left: -1000px;
    visibility: hidden;
    color: black;
    text-decoration: none;
    font-family:"Myriad Pro", arial, verdana, sans-serif;
    font-size:16px;
    text-align:left;
    display:inline;
    }

    .category:hover span{ /*CSS for text box*/
    visibility: visible;
    top: 0;
    left: 180px; /*position where text box should offset horizontally */
    z-index: 50;
    }

    If anything jumps out at you, please let me know.

    You should type a.category span instead of .category span, the same as a.category:hover span

    Specificity. it's CSS's middle name. (Not really, but it could be!)
