    I am using the following code for my background:

    Code:
    background: url(../images/background.jpg) no-repeat left top;
    For the background, I have an image in the top lefthand corner, and the rest is a solid color. I want the solid color to stretch all the way down the page. I don't want it to repeat, because it will then repeat the image in the corner.

    So my problem is this: how can I get the solid color to stretch all the way down the page without having to make the background image a crazy length? The pages of the website vary in length (some have lengthy articles).

    Thanks.

    Is there anything placed over that corner background image?

    If not, don't make that image a background image.
    Instead, make it a regular image and set the background color underneath it.

    Without seeing your web page, there may be other options, but we can't see it.
