    Thanks for your efforts mlseim!

    While you were busy tweeking it, I managed to solve it myself. :rambo:
    Like i said in my previous post, it was just a matter of adding the positioning attribute to all affected DIVs to get the z-index working.

    When the page fell apart I got really worried. That turned out to be a mysterious error on localhost. As soon as I uploaded the altered CSS to the server, everything worked out fine.


    The alterations to the previous faulty design, are minute.

    I've added "position:relative" to the text div (which doesn't do didly squat, except open it for z-index stacking).
    I've made a "position:absolute; top:0; left:0;" addition to the background image DIV.

    I've just finished shooting and editing a heapload of product images that are supposed to go in the webshop part of the site, and my brain has short circuited.
    I will have a look at your code alterations tomorrow, to see what you did differently, and figure out why that apperantly also worked.
